MARCH THE 9TH OF THE FIRST YEAR
The party spent the week gathering information in Westil. They learned of two nearby settlements. The village of Vantyr, home to a church dedicated to St. Ras, friendly to Lawful aligned characters. The village of Dulduumidaz, a village of Fire Dwarves, friendly to other dwarves.
They hired two retainers, Christine the Magic User, and Evelyn the Cleric. Their journey to Stonehell was uneventful. When they arrived, they discovered recent grafitti in Goblin, and Goblin blood from a fight the previous night. They then discovered that copse of trees near the entrance of Stonehell was enchanted with a massmorph spell, turning anyone who stepped into the area into the image of a tree to those outside of the enchanted zone. Inside the copse, they found the recent remains of a bandit camp. Giles discovered another magic zone, but did not investigate it. They were then ambushed by a mountain lion, but quickly disposed of the creature. They delved into Stonehell.
After walking 100ft. down into the dungeon, they lit their torches and explored near the foyer they came through. They discovered a kitchen, an abandoned feasting hall, and an empty room. They also discovered a makeshift sign with words written in Kobold across it. The noise they made while exploring had attracted 8 giant centipedes. They barricaded themselves inside the feasting hall and then lit a fire to smoke the creatures out. Eventually, they slew 4, then the remaining 4 fled. They decided to head back to the surface.
At the surface, they were ambushed by a gang of bandits, 4 melee and 2 ranged. The bandits demanded all of their gold pieces. The party tried to negotiate, but failed, and handed over their gold. They then made their way back to town.
